This past weekend our 2023-2024 ACCP WCU Student Chapter President Albert had the opportunity to meet with Senator Steven Choi with Orange County Pharmacists Association (OCPhA) Legislative Committee.

They discussed critical issues impacting pharmacy practice, including SB 41, which aims to regulate PBMs to ensure transparency, fairness, and ultimately better care for patients. They also advocated for AB 1503, supporting a Standard of Care model that allows pharmacists to fully utilize their training to serve patients more effectively.

What a great opportunity to engage is a conversation about the challenges facing independent pharmacies, healthcare access, and the future of our profession. 👏

💫What an unforgettable year.

Albert and the 2024–2025 team—thank you for your unwavering dedication, your vision, and the heart you brought to every moment. Together, you’ve made a lasting impact on clinical pharmacy, strengthened our community, and redefined what it means to lead in pharmacy education.

You weren’t just a team—you were a movement.
You challenged the norm, lifted others up, and created something truly meaningful. From patient care to outreach, from mentorship to innovation—your legacy is one of purpose, progress, and deep compassion.

“The end is the part of the journey.”
And this ending marks a chapter filled with growth, resilience, and extraordinary leadership.

As this era closes, a new one begins. With Michelle and the 2025–2026 team stepping in, we’re filled with pride, gratitude, and excitement for what’s to come. The bar has been set high and the future is in good hands.

Here’s to the team that made a difference.
Here’s to the journey ahead.

Last week, Congresswoman Laura Friedman visited West Coast University’s Center for Graduate Studies, where she engaged with students and faculty from a variety of graduate programs. Representing the School of Pharmacy, our exceptional students—led by Albert and Ashley—shared insights about the PharmD curriculum, student experience, and the critical role pharmacists play in community health.
We are incredibly proud of Albert and Ashley for their leadership, professionalism, and dedication. Thank you both for proudly representing the School of Pharmacy and serving as outstanding ambassadors for WCU.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Congresswoman Friedman for taking the time to connect with our future healthcare leaders.
