Celebrated another trip around the sun 🌞 by treating myself to a delicious lunch at Cafe Gratitude in Venice. Nourished my belly & soul and my sweet tooth with Jeni’s trio 🍨 of brambleberry crisp, brown butter almond brittle & goat cheese with red 🍒cherries!
Would you consider that a well balanced meal?
Treat yourself!
🙏🏻❤️🥰✨

Most people probably don't think of rest as a valuable activity since it requires minimal effort but we know otherwise. We get ourselves to a comfy seat, close our eyes and have the intention of thinking our mantra innocently as a faint sound triggering this wonderful process that allows us to gain deep rest that is 2-5x deeper than any point in a night's sleep. As a result, we are able to access a beautiful opportunity to release stress which is actually an activity. Repeat 20 minutes 2x a day. It's amazing how a practice so simple has the ability to transform lives. Just as stimulation is rather excitatory to our central nervous system which is where the stress triggers or premature cognitive commitments are stored, resting has profound healing effects as we all know although I understand it can require discipline to get to a seat and let nature guide us. (I can help!)
Yogastha kuru karmani—establish yourself in being, in the present moment, and then perform action.
We receive the gift of another opportunity when we gain deep rest, and with all that inner and physical potential, we can spring into dynamic action like a superhero as our best selves. Bring it on! We can adapt to situations just like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix dodging bullets and Bradley Cooper's character in Limitless who is incredibly smart as he can learn quickly and has mad reflexes. He even takes up martial arts in no time. Channel your inner superhero by getting your derriere to your favorite meditation spot (or learn Vedic Meditation with yours truly). Easy peasy. We do meditate for action and not just for the experience of meditation which is rather appealing in and of itself but we indeed contribute towards the need of the time. Evolution. Always be progressing and boy does it feel awesome! The world thanks you in advance for your evolutionary contribution!

Santosha in Sanskrit means contentment and satisfaction. Well, it sounds like a pretty positive concept, right? Interestingly enough contentment actually is the antithesis to evolution!?! If everything is alright, where is the motivation to make a change? We want to move beyond contentment to bliss and higher states of consciousness.
All the stress build over a lifetime in one's physiology can inspire one to step out of the ever repeating known and change course. If we take a step back and take a wider snapshot of our lives instead of focusing on a moment or splice of life, then it's easier to appreciate the adversity we have lived through which are opportunities that can lead to exactly where we are intended to be right here and right now.
There are always opportunities to adapt, overcome adversity, grow and flourish but that it does require a little help to get there. With every meditation, one can take a step closer to a more beautiful life that also shapes the lives of those around you. You indeed deserve the best!

What is the best for you? Do you realize how wonderful you are and that you indeed deserve the best? As in what is good for the Big "S" Self that you're part of that is also good for the universe vs the small "s" self as in the ego? And are you accepting the best which is your heritage? Acceptance is an expression of gratitude in that you acknowledge that you indeed deserve the best. Why, you ask? For all reasons. Progress. Evolution. As we meditate and dissolve stress built over a lifetime just like a deep clean, we are able to refine our sensory perceptibility so our more sophisticated senses become more in tune with what the best for us/the Big "S" aspect of our Self.

Along with meditation, letting go can also look like allowing someone who cares about you to handle it. Sometimes, we are just not up for it, and we need a shoulder to lean on, and that’s okay. We don’t have to buy into this societal pressure to do it all and be it all. We know we are strong, we don’t need to try and prove anything.

Sleep and water are so underrated when it comes to achieving perfect health. If you do plan to stay in bed all day, it’s likely your body that set that plan in motion out of sheer necessity! No judgment. And guess what? You can still meditate! Just be sure you keep a pitcher of water by your bed, eh? 😋
