Classic heel raises are not a bad starting point for exploring ways to mobilize your foot. When doing them, your forefoot changes its shape while being under the load of your body, which is quite a functional setup. Not to mention a nice workout for calf muscles.

But if you really want to focus on the mobility aspect, instead of climbing up, try raising your heels by pushing your knees forward while keeping your pelvis in place.

This version brings your heel more forward, allowing for greater bending leverage on the toes while simultaneously achieving more plantarflexion in the ankle. This combination works for the foot like squeezing a towel from both sides, because now tissues have to decide whether to move towards the stretched front of the ankle or towards the equally stretched bottom of the forefoot.

If doing this you hear clicking and popping sounds from your foot, don't worry. That's the sound of your body regaining mobility.

Our body has a great triple stage landing amortization mechanism.

At the lowest level, foot and ankle absorb energy by going into pronation in order to smooth the peak of force which will be transferred higher. At the second stage, the knee is drawn into flexion which allows quads to work as energy buffers. This knee movement also entails ankle dorsiflexion, which activates calf muscles as secondary buffers.

All those actions help to spread the impact force as a preparation for the third stage of absorption, which is performed by the glutes. The tibia is drawn into flexion and internal rotation. Movements which ideally oppose gluteus maximus function, making it a perfect choice for a main energy absorber.

Thanks to that marvelous piece of engineering, our head slows down gently.

Want the Perfect Squat? 🏋️‍♂️ Here’s a common mistake that might be hurting your form!

🚨 Mistake: Pointing the toes too far outward
Excessive toe-out positioning can reduce stability, disrupt knee tracking, and limit force production, putting unnecessary strain on your hips and knees.

✅ Fix it: Position your feet about hip-width apart with your toes pointing outward at a slight angle (10-30 degrees). This improves control and helps you generate more power for a stronger, more efficient squat.

🔥 Lateral Raises: Are You Making This Common Mistake? 🔥

Lateral raises are among the best exercises for building strong, defined shoulders, but improper form can shift the focus away from the middle deltoid!

❌ The mistake: Rotating the shoulders outward to lift the dumbbells instead of properly engaging the middle deltoid. This movement relies more on the external rotators rather than effectively targeting the delts.

✅ The fix: Keep the arms straight or slightly bent, ensuring that your elbows, not just the dumbbells, reach shoulder height.
