The Office of Equity and Compliance at CSUN wants you to know when and how to report a potential violation of the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy. Suppose you or someone you know is experiencing unwelcome physical, verbal or nonverbal conduct or an adverse action based on a protected status. In that case, you or they could be experiencing discrimination or harassment.
The CSU Nondiscrimination Policy covers dating/domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment, stalking, prohibited consensual relationships and retaliation.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day earlier this week, we're taking it back to 1958!
š On March 14, 1958, the Honor Society threw a St. Patrick's Day party at San Fernando State Valley College, now CSUN. That same day, CSUN introduced its new colorsāred, white and blueāalong with the Matador as the official mascot.

This year's Giving Day donors gave more than $9,000 toward our CSUN Food Pantry. These contributions will help provide nutritious meals to students facing food insecurity, allowing them to focus on their studies and thrive academically. Tax season is here, and CSUNās Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic is offering free tax preparation services for low-income taxpayers earning $67,000 or less. With 15 locations across Los Angeles County, including CSUNās Bookstein Hall.

CSUNās College of Health and Human Development celebrated the 2025 Campanella Scholars at a special luncheon honoring 10 students who received scholarships from the Roy and Roxie Campanella Foundation and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
These scholarships support students who demonstrate exceptional clinical potential and are continuing the Campanella legacy through their dedication to physical therapy. In April, the recipients will be honored at Dodger Stadium, a cherished tradition. š¹

CSUN alumna Arby Jean Wolkov ('09, M.A. '13) has made history as the first ASL teacher to be named a California Teacher of the Year! š
Wolkov, who teaches ASL at William Howard Taft Charter High School, is one of just five educators statewide to receive this prestigious honor out of 330,000 teachers in California. A passionate advocate for inclusion and accessibility, she is dedicated to expanding ASL education and creating more opportunities for students to connect with the Deaf and hard of hearing community.
Her journey from a CSUN Deaf studies major to leading Taftās World Languages Department is a testament to her commitment to bridging gaps and connecting people through ASL. With demand for ASL programs growing, Wolkov hopes her recognition will inspire more schools to offer ASL courses and increase representation for the Deaf and hard of hearing community.

Time flies, but these memories last forever! In January 1967, San Fernando Valley State College, now CSUN, opened a cafeteria in Northridge Hall. This allowed students to interact with one another while taking advantage of resources like a gymnasium, a beauty salon, and an outdoor pool.
