This is the official page for the Calstate L.A. Forensics Speech and Debate Team. We compete in several public speaking and debate events.

The California State University, Los Angeles Forensics team has been active since the campus opened in 1947. In 2016, we received first place at the National Forensics Association's National Individual Events Tournament.

This Earth Day 🌏✨️, our forensics speech & debate team showed up and made a difference. We picked up trash on campus, because you know... environmental impacts lead to nuclear war 😂. The areas that needed the most love were the ET building and parking lots. We're grateful for the opportunity to step up and take action. 💚♻️💪🏼

Let's keep it going. If you see trash, pick it up and help make our campus cleaner. Earth Day is everyday.

The theme for Denim Day 2026 is "Use Your Voice" so we created a space for voices to be seen and heard. 💙🩵 Thanks to all of your generous donations, our team was able to prepare denim pieces for our interactive campus art project where students can reflect and respond to prompts about consent, support, and standing with survivors. Each piece of denim is a space for messages, reflections, and commitments to awareness.

Join us in adding to this art piece because your words matter 🗨🩵

April is sexual assault awareness month and we are getting ready for Denim Day with our interactive art project. If you are passing by the Student Health Center, grab a marker and answer the prompt on the table in one of the denim squares. Each day, we will have a new prompt. Today's topic is asking what consent means to you. If you can't make it out to the SHC, let's discuss in the comments 👇🏼.
