Statement from the Center for LGBTQ+ Health Equity in support of transgender and non-binary children, adolescents and their families

Check out CLHE’s research on the experience of sexual harassment, assault, and stalking in the US military—specifically among LGBT service members. This research highlights the elevated risk that LGBT service members face for harassment, and emphasizes the need for further integration and acceptance.

Check out our research on the perceptions of acceptance of racial, ethnic, sexual and gender minorities in the United States military. This research highlights issues of integration in the US military and the role of stigma and discrimination.

Congratulations to the newly minted Dr. Katie McNamara on successfully defending her dissertation, "Disclosure of LGBT Identity Among U.S. Service Members After Repeal of LGBT Military Service Bans”. We are so incredibly proud!

Katie is heading back to the Air Force to be on faculty as a Behavioralist teaching behavioral sciences to Family Medicine residents at the Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas. She will also continue to write about the well-being of actively serving LGBT service members.
