with artists including Børns and Kesha. Mike began playing when he was twelve years old, quickly realizing that he had found his passion. Studying under multiple teachers, Mike explored a wide variety musical styles. In 2011, Mike won Modern Drummer Magazine’s prestigious “Up and Coming Drummer of the Year” award, and, two years later, was nominated again for “Alternative Drummer of the Year.” Modern Drummer said that Mike has “a frightening amount of talent” and possesses “mature poise behind the kit.” In addition to being a drummer, Mike also plays a number of other instruments and has extensive experience with programming and electronic instruments. Mike is an accomplished drum teacher and teaches students of all ages and abilities. Lessons are available in person at Mike’s studio in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park and also via Skype to students in other parts of the country or world.
