The SBMT sincerely thanks Jeff Wang for his service for 2018 as President and his leadership towards combining all facets of neuroscience research in brain mapping, tissue engineering, stem cell, nanotechnology, imaging and medical devices; in order to improve the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients afflicted with neurological disorders.

The SBMT Elects Saleem I. Abdulrauf, M.D. FACS As President to Promote and Advance Brain And Spine Health, Technology, Innovation and Research Issues for 2019 - 2020

Saleem Abdulrauf is a physician specializing in neurosurgery in St. Louis, Missouri, who has helped develop high-flow brain bypass surgery, a procedure for treating intracranial aneurysm, a less-invasion procedure than traditional methods. He has several leadership positions including Department Chairman of Neurosurgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, including Walter E. Dandy Nuerosurgical Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies.

Ido Kedar is an autistic guy with a message. He says, "I spent the first half of my life completely trapped in silence. The second - on becoming a free soul. I had to fight to get an education but I succeeded, graduating high school with a diploma and a 3.9 GPA. I plan to go to college to continue my education. I communicate by typing on an iPad or a letter board. My book, "Ido in Autismland" is an autism diary, telling the story of my symptoms, education, and journey into communication. I hope to help other autistic people find a way out of their silence too."
