SIATech Downtown Los Angeles Independent Study

Hello SIATech Students and Families -

We invite you to join us for a special community event on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. We will have a variety of activities so there will be something for everyone. Friends and family are welcome. Food and snacks will be provided. Plus, everything will be free!

Location: 255 S. Mednick Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90022
When: Saturday, Sept. 30th from 10 am - 3 pm

Activities include:
• Meet our partners like Boyle Heights Tech Center and others
• Watch a Jiu Jitsu Demo from East LA Jiu Jitsu
• Workshop on mental health

Students will also have the opportunity to take pictures for their student ID, finish missing assignments, and earn missing attendance.

Racial Trauma and Young People – Why We Can’t Stay Silent Like so many others, we were deeply pained by the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis this past Monday. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Violence against Black Americans, as we’ve seen with the recent deaths of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others this year alone...

You may be eligible to receive up to $365 per child to help feed your family. Because schools are closed due to COVID-19, families who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals can get extra food benefits to help feed their children. These benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT.

Apply for P-EBT (Pandemic EBT) Due to coronavirus (COVID 19), children who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals at school will get extra food benefits. These food benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT benefits. P-EBT benefits help families in California buy food when school is closed.

In an abundance of caution and in line with surrounding school districts and the local, state, and federal health and education agencies, all SIATech and SIATech Academy South school sites will be CLOSED through April 3, in order to curb the potential transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19). This closure will be effective through April 3, 2020 unless conditions call for an extension. During this period, school sites listed below will be closed and all students should stay home. We will continually monitor the situation and remain in close contact with the appropriate county offices of education and local public health officials throughout the duration of this closure and will provide updates to students, staff and parents as appropriate.
