At Vox Collegiate, we know that every child can learn and that children succeed academically when they are supported and provided a rigorous, college preparatory education. Regardless of socioeconomic status, race, zip code, or first language, Vox Collegiate students will leave middle school firmly on the path to college and life success. OUR UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
• Speech and Debate – We know that our students can be creative thinkers, developing brilliant ideas. They each need the voice to effectively communicate and defend those ideas. All students will complete a school speech and debate program, aligned to California English Language Development Standards and Common Core State Standards in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
• Extended Instruction in Literacy and Math – Beginning in 6th grade, students will receive 100 minutes of literacy and math instruction every day. Fifty minutes will be dedicated to our rigorous, grade level content and fifty minutes to individually coaching students who may need extra support and propelling students ready to tackle advanced material.
• Blended Instruction with Technology – Our math and English classrooms will employ a blended learning model where students rotate from computer-based individualized learning programs to small group targeted instruction with specialized attention from teachers. OUR LEAD FOUNDER
TyAnthony Davis, a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, holds the deep belief that neither race, socioeconomic status, nor zip code should determine a child’s access to a high quality school. Davis has studied and learned from some of the nation’s top performing urban charter schools to inform the design and ex*****on articulated for Vox Collegiate of Los Angeles. A background in education and law, coupled with the support and training of Building Excellent Schools has equipped Mr. Davis with the knowledge, skills, and continued support necessary to effectively lead the students of Vox Collegiate towards unparalleled academic achievement and character development for success in college and beyond.
