We’re in the final hours of ! Join us to support 3 of our schools in a rebel-held village in Congo and give the gift of quality education.

TODAY is Giving Tuesday! This year, we’re supporting our students in the rebel-held village of Kalembe with free, quality schooling and additional assistance for their families during this holiday season. To increase your impact, we even have a MATCH where your gift will be DOUBLED up to $20K through the support of a generous donor.

Receiving quality schooling at a Justice Rising school doesn’t just mean that students learn to read and write — it means students can THRIVE at school in every sense, including feeling safe and being motivated to learn.

We believe that every student, even those living in conflict, deserves to receive a quality education and an opportunity to thrive.

Your donation will give children born into war the opportunity to learn, feel safe, and dream of a brighter future without being held back by a financial burden.

Join us today and together we can transform the lives of children living in war.

This Thanksgiving, we’re incredibly grateful for our students and teachers—many of whom have fled from war in the last year—who continue to show up for class and thrive amid overwhelming difficulties.

Join us in standing with these kids during this holiday season to provide free, quality education and hope during this time of giving.

Did you know that structured play can provide normalcy and a sense of security for students in protracted conflict settings? This is particularly true when there are insecurities just on the other side of the wall.

This is Justice Rising’s P.S. Kindness Primary School where our students continue with their studies, play games at recess, and sing their hearts out, even as families who are displaced from war are living in tarped tents only a few meters from their school.

Next Tuesday is and we’re standing with Justice Rising students—who are facing significant challenges due to the war—and delivering quality, conflict-sensitive schooling. The first $20K is MATCHED to double your impact over 24 hours in Giving Tuesday.

Join us next week!

Jen here one last time! One of our high schools, Antioche, started this year with a major upgrade — a shiny new second floor! I’m always nervous when we visit this school. At 5 ft tall, most of the students are taller than me and you just never know if the high school students will be feeling extra sassy. Way more intimidating to me than our primary students!

Well, I was SO surprised by this visit. A handful of students greeted me in Chinese (what?! 😮) and we all had a good laugh over how shocked I was. After classes finished, I hung out with some students wanting to practice their English and we joked around for a bit with lots of charades thrown in for communication. It felt like a throwback to my own high school days of hanging out in the hallways after the last bell!

We’re just two weeks away from Thanksgiving, which means the holiday season, and Giving Tuesday, is officially upon us!

This year we can’t help but share about the opportunity to stand with our incredible students who have endured conflict and displacement, and still manage to show up to school while living in tarped shelters. Thankfully, many of them are now studying in the afternoon in nearby Justice Rising schools, but due to the insecurities, they have been unable to pay for school fees. So community, let’s rise up and help to cover their expenses for school!

We’re so excited to announce that we have a $20K MATCH to help do just that! That means that every gift you give on Tuesday, December 3rd, will be DOUBLED up to $20K. Join us on Giving Tuesday and let’s come together to support these remarkable students in the Congo. 🎉

Our Justice Rising schools are beams of light in the community. As you can see in this photo, a Justice Rising school stands out amidst hundreds of thousands of tarped tents that displaced families now call home. Our organization has been forced to stretch and grow in the face of this war. Many of our students are living in unfathomable conditions and our schools have responded by standing with our students to keep them safe and studying.

Your help is needed more than ever before to meet the growing demand for our programs during these trying times. Join us on (Dec 3rd!) to support the most vulnerable students living in protracted conflict. More details coming soon…

This school, P.S. Kindness, opened in 2019. Every time I’ve visited this school, it’s around the end of the day and it is always raining. As the students are dismissed, a handful of stragglers will usually sit on the front slope with me and hang out while we wait for the rain to slow down. It’s picturesque, with all the greenery and the volcano looming in the background. You’ve probably seen us use the drone shot (slide 2) of this school many many times!

This year, as we rolled up to visit, the sight was jarring. Over the half-wall surrounding the school was a field of white tents as far as you could see - an IDP camp set up right next to the school. As I chatted with some students, I asked what life was like in the camps and one student said, “It’s hard. Food is expensive so we’re lucky to have one meal. There’s no water or toilets, so a lot of people are sick.”
While I was still mulling this over, they had already moved on to telling me their favorite subjects, favorite games, and their dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, and pro soccer players. All I can think is our students are truly a different level of resilient.

Hello! Jen from the Justice Rising US team here - I'll be taking over the JR instagram for a little bit :). Some of you may have met me at a JR event or if you've ever contacted our admin email, it was likely me who responded to you! In September, I was in Congo for back to school month and got to visit many of our schools and sit and chat with our students and teachers. Even with the long flights and the jetlag that feels like it will never go away, this trip is always the highlight of my year. I'll be sharing some stories from my trip over the next week!
