The Singer/Songwriter Sessions

This session we begin exploring what is means to make original music of your own!

A new songwriting class will explore the greatest songwriters in musical history andhave students writing songs of their own. Our choir (which has performed at the Greek theater,the Ford and Disney concert hall) will be taking on songs by contemporary songwriters such as Colbie Caliat and Sara Bareilles as well as the legendary Lou Reed. The band will have a great opportunity to back the choir and continue developing their instrument skills. Also, we are THRILLED to welcome back teacher Noah Harmon (Airborne Toxic Event) who will be sharing his invaluable wisdom in a class designed to give students the skills to teach music to others. After this class our students, some of whom have been studying here for over 8 years will feel confident to tutor and mentor other people in guitar, bass, drums or voice. Finally, it will all come together in a recording studio where the choir, band and songwriters will professionally record the songs they have been working on. A final live performance is also a very likely possibility. So get ready to take your interest in music to the next level and begin to bring out your own individual musical artistry and professionalism!!
