Your business can grow faster than your mental health is ready for.

I scaled too fast and although it looked like success from the outside, mentally, I wasn’t prepared for everything that came with it.

Growth is exciting, but your mental health matters more than any number, milestone, or title. Take care of yourself while you build. Success means nothing if you lose yourself trying to achieve it.

I’ve learned that growing my businesses does not mean sacrificing the time that matters most to me. I structure my week so Fridays and Saturdays are for my family and my daughter’s softball games, and Sundays are reserved for my clients.

I also intentionally schedule rest days because I know I cannot pour from an empty cup. Since prioritizing my mental health, I’ve noticed that I’m genuinely more excited to take on clients and show up for my businesses. That energy has helped me grow and scale without feeling completely burned out.

Rest is not keeping me from reaching my goals. It’s actually helping me build the life and businesses I’ve always wanted.

Credit to Najiyah, a Philadelphia waxer whose TikTok about the lack of Black estheticians represented on panels at beauty conferences inspired this post.

She shared that she would love to see more people who look like her represented at industry events, and her concerns are completely valid. I’m so glad she used her platform to bring awareness to this.

I genuinely don’t believe most events are purposely trying to exclude anyone. I think there are so many talented professionals who simply aren’t on event organizers’ radars yet. So instead of only talking about it, I want to help create more visibility.

Inside The Money Making Esthetician Community, I’m going to start posting two consistent threads.

First, I’ll post a weekly thread where you can share any beauty industry events happening in 2026 or 2027. I’m also thinking about creating a Google Doc where people can submit their events, along with a full page on The Money Making Esthetician website so we can easily find events happening across the country.

I truly believe networking is one of the best ways to boost morale, build community, make connections, and honestly just have fun with other people in our industry.

Second, I’ll be posting regular speaker threads. If you want to speak at industry events, you’ll be able to introduce yourself, share your Instagram, post a video, and show event organizers what you bring to the table. Sometimes people simply need an opportunity to be seen.

I really hope this creates more representation and gives more talented professionals a chance to get on people’s radar.
