The first day of school may still be a few days away, but our staff is already back and getting ready for you! On Wednesday our incredible community schools manager Lindsay Dumas arranged a community partners scavenger hunt that introduced our team to some of the amazing resources in the community. A huge thank you to Felipe de Neve Library KYCC Everybody Dance LA! Heart of Los Angeles and Panaderia Salvadorena Bakery for welcoming us into your spaces!
This summer has flown by and now it’s almost time to go back to school! There is so much to look forward to! !
We are rich in life because of all the strong friendships and new experiences we get to have at school. These were some of our students celebrating the end of CAASPP testing last year. We can’t wait to see what new memories are created this year.

We are grateful for reminders that our Kohyang extends beyond the school gate. Earlier this year, some of our students were surprised with a special visit from the local police officers who were on campus for a community partnership meeting.

These may be the dog days of summer, but nothing will beat how cute our Kindergarteners were during their spring dance performance.
Even the best places have not-so-great moments. Let’s hope these don’t happen too much in the new year!
A month ago they were 5th graders and now they’re off to middle school! One of our favorite traditions at RKES is the 5th grade luncheon where students, families, and teachers get to celebrate the hard work of the soon-to-be graduates.
One of the best things about Bright Star Schools is that each of our clusters is TK-12! That means that we get to cheer our students on every step of the way!
