Ellie Zarrabian, PhD is the Founder and Director of Centerpeace Foundation 2008, the Centerpeace Project 2014 and the author of the ebook “Dr. Ellie's Book of Love--Notes From the Pandemic." Born and raised in Iran until the age of 9, she left her native country due to a revolution and war. Becoming refugees first in England, she and her family then migrated to the United States in 1983. bian has spent most of her life learning, teaching and practicing the principles of non-violence and peaceful co-existence with people of different cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds. As the Founder and Director of the Centerpeace Project she is dedicated to empowering individuals and mobilizing communities that have undergone generations of social unrest, violence and war. Her mission is to empower the children and young adults in such communities to learn more effective ways for communicating, resolving conflict, healing trauma and bringing innovative and peaceful solutions to current problems.

During the Revolution, chaos was everywhere: sirens, rationing, fear on the streets. As a child, I longed for stillness but didn’t know where to find it. Only later did I discover that the greatest sanctuary we can build is not external — it is within.

Through breathwork and meditation, I found a refuge that could not be taken away. Even in moments of turmoil, the breath reminded me: I am here, I am alive, I am safe in this moment. This is why mindfulness is not just practice, but medicine.
