Jewish Earth Week International Jewish Earth Week was founded in 2005 to educate about Jewish environmental values. There is more to Tu b’Shvat than planting trees.

The ancient festival of Tu b’Shvat offers communities the opportunity to connect environmentalism with Jewish spiritually in creative ways, engaging Jews across a wide spectrum of observance levels and backgrounds. Most Jews are unaware that Judaism has anything to say about the our relationship to the environment. In fact, Judaism commits humanity to be stewards of the earth, protecting it from exploitation and devastation. However that commitment has been neglected. Jewish Earth Week is designed to offer a compelling framework for community outreach, education, celebration, and activism rooted in Jewish wisdom and values. Jewish Earth Week takes Tu b’Shvat to a whole new level. Jewish Earth Week takes place the week of Tu b’Shvat. It is being organized by students, Hillels, and other campus groups on multiple campuses this winter. Jewish Earth Week will feature speakers, actions and celebrations with local and international leaders, educators, and activists who are pursuing solutions to pressing global environmental issues.

Bruce Whizin, a friend and influential philanthropist, passed away on July 9, 2022. Funeral today Tuesday, July 12, 2022 - 1:00pm at Eden Memorial Park. Bruce Z"L supported Jewlicious Festival and his foundation continues to support Jewish Earth Week. May his memory be for blessings and his neshama have an Aliyah.
