The Los Angeles County Bar Association - LACBA helps lawyers get up to speed on their trial skills in no time. The organization’s Trial Advocacy Project (TAP) is designed specifically for attorneys who have no trial experience and “provides introductory trial advocacy instruction, emphasizing participant mock trial performance and constructive feedback.” Participants receive instruction on trial skills and perform several phases of a jury trial. The TAP 3-week course is taught 4 times a year in the evening. Learn more here:

This past weekend, Dykema’s Martin Hirshland participated in “Comfort and Joy,” a volunteer event that provided food, clothing, toys, and a day of fun to more than 500 underserved families from South Los Angeles. Martin and other volunteers from The Los Angeles County Bar Association's Barristers/Young Attorneys section were assigned to the “Marketplace” booth, handing out puzzles, books, sports equipment, dolls, and other gifts to very excited children.
The event was organized by Los Angeles Trial Lawyers' Charities, the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton Division, the Los Angeles Fire Department, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and numerous other law firms and community organizations.
