I was honored to meet today with students from King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science in LA to discuss youth mental health. They bravely shared stories of mental health challenges they've faced and insights into how they manage them. We all have a role to play in supporting young people like those from King/Drew.

Friday Career Talk Webinar - Multiple presenters will each give a 5-minute presentation with Q&A discussion to follow. ~30 minutes
Presentations that include audiovisuals (slides, videos, etc.) are highly recommended.

Through our ongoing partnership with King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science, we’ve had the privilege of introducing, young future clinicians to the world of community health.

Kaiya Ezeb, a junior at King Drew Medical Magnet High School, spent her summer in the Dominican Republic, thanks to a study-abroad scholarship from Global Navigator. The scholarship helps students learn to navigate across languages, connect with cultures and develop a global perspective. Learn about Kaiya's experience here:

Hello, My name is Kaiya Ezeb. I am 16 yrs old. I am a junior at King Drew Medical Magnet High School. I traveled to the Dominican Republic through the CIEE Summer Abroad Program. The program name was Language and Culture and my CIEE Staff were the amazing Jennifer and Jamir. I had the opportunity to study the Dominican culture and language. I also had the opportunity to stay in the home of a Dominican and study the culture even further as in what they may eat and what they may do on a daily basis. I have learned more Spanish than I knew before, I learned that you can never take what you may have in your county for granted. I have learned that the more you go and try new things the better the outcome and you have the opportunity to add to your book of life new experiences that others may not have. My biggest take away was the people that I meet the new relationships that I have formed with people that I never thought in a million years that I would meet and go places that I never knew I would have the opportunity to go. I also took away the mindset of opening up to new things and being able to get out of my shell. I would love to do this again and go to more Spanish speaking country to further my education and further my experiences of meeting new people and making connections that will allow me to do things of this nature again.
