The criminologists determine why crimes happen and find ways to prevent crimes. They do researches about crimes through statistics. They interact with criminals to understand more about crimes. Sometimes, they also work with law enforcement workers or politicians to help them find ways to stop crimes.

To be a good criminologist, you must be comfortable with talking to people and be sociable. You must be hard-working and active. You must also be very organized in your work. If you want to success in this job, you really have to be very good with statistics and be interested in public policy.
