🐑 Meet my wooly friends, Meryl Sheep, Fleece Witherspoon, and Halle Baaarry!

🐑 My daughter loves looking, pointing, and reaching at these sheep as they hang above her changing table. This was one of my first needle-felting projects, and I love how forgiving and therapeutic felting can be. No matter how many inspiration photos I referenced, once I started shaping body parts, each sheep took on a spunky little life of its own, and I especially love their different curly hairdos!

It feels like it was just a matter of time for Spencer to receive this special recognition, since anyone who has ever met him is instantly inspired by his creativity, musical prowess, and tenacity. I was certainly ✨bewitched✨ by his passionate spirit when we first met at 16 at music camp! I'm so honored that I get a backstage pass to all of his endeavors.

I wanted to celebrate by making this digital watercolor, and now I thinking I'd like to make prints to send to our loved ones who have supported Spencer and cheered him on! Not sure when we'll receive the physical trophy, but apparently they're all being engraved and will be mailed out within a couple months. Did ya know – they're about 8.5" tall and weigh 5 pounds! My mom checked the dimensions so we'd know how much shelf space to clear on the hutch in the studio, haha!

🎶 To celebrate 's birthday last month, I drew, printed, and framed this digital watercolor. I still have so much to learn as a developing artist – and it’s amazing how a little pressure (like a birthday deadline!) can push us outside our creative comfort zones.

🧡 For this piece, I collaged multiple photo references and tried to use a warm & peachy color palette to complement Emily's gorgeous hair. After gifting the framed print, I reworked the illustration in Adobe Illustrator to make a poster for one of her upcoming shows – which is happening TONIGHT! One of the artists that inspires me, Sarah Hand - Art & Wonder said recently that she draws birds and apples whenever she is feeling stuck or uninspired. With that in mind, I used some Gouache brushes from Bardot Brush to doodle these little friends in Procreate. I love how even really simple line drawings can have such quirky personalities!
