So many wonderful things happening at our L.A. Public Library! What a treasure it is for our community!

Spring is the perfect time to shake things up — and Gymnasium for the Mind is returning to L.A.’s beautiful Central Library to get you started.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll use simple games and playful exercises to boost creativity, energize the brain, and reconnect with a sense of playfulness.
We’ll also explore how play helps us connect with others. After all, when you want to get to know someone, you don’t suggest fixing a car or mowing the lawn… you go out and play.
You’ll walk away with practical ways to bring more spontaneity, connection, and enjoyment into your everyday life.
Come stretch your mind… and maybe make a few new playmates along the way.

Happy heavenly birthday to my business partner, the co-founder of Gymnasium for the Mind, and my friend. I'm sure he's leading improv workshops in the hereafter. Pleasant journeys, Michael!

A big shout-out and thanks to Karcy Bowles, Celia Avila de Santiago, Krystal Messer, and all the great librarians and staff at the Los Angeles Public Library branches for a fantastic five months of Gymnasium For The Mind workshops through the Active Studio program.
It's been a joyful and rewarding experience to share Gymnasium For The Mind's games, techniques, and philosophy of maintaining brain health to maximize our quality of life with such a welcoming, caring, and conscientious group of people. I look forward to working (and playing) with them again.
It's also a reminder of what a precious resource our public libraries are, and the importance of giving them our support and protection.
"The library card is a passport to wonders and miracles, glimpses into other lives, religions, experiences, the hopes and dreams and strivings of ALL human beings, and it is this passport that opens our eyes and hearts to the world beyond our front doors, that is one of our best hopes against tyranny, xenophobia, hopelessness, despair, anarchy, and ignorance." – Libba Bray
