This week’s haul in all it’s abundant glory from !!! I’m particularly excited about the purslane. I plan to sauté it lightly with some marinated eggplant and then toss it with quinoa and fresh basil. What do you do with Purslane??

It’s hot out there today but this Peach and Hatch Chili sorbet with fresh local fruit is keeping me cool!!! The recipe is super easy to make and doesn’t require churning: 2 lbs of fruit (I used fresh peaches from and a roasted Hatch Chile from for extra summer kick!), 1/2 lb of sugar (helps to use a kitchen scale), 1 tbs of lemon or lime juice (I used lime), a pinch of salt. Blend it all up super smooth in a blender for a couple minutes, pour into a freezer safe container, put a lid on it, and leave it to freeze for 7-8 hours! Serve with your fave seasonal fruit 🍒🥝🍑🍇🌶🍓❤️🥰.

It’s season!!! I was out of town for six weeks to clear my head and figure out what the future holds for Delightful Table. I’m planning on making some announcements soon so stay tuned!! In the meantime, I came back just in time for the annual Hatch Chile roasting that happens every year and that I now can’t live without. Check the stories to follow along and see what I’m doing with all my Hatch Chilis 🌶. I’ll be posting pics and recipes as well! .

Delightful Table has teamed up with to provide food for our community!

1 in 5 people in LA County don't know where there next meal is coming from and that was BEFORE the pandemic. Food insecurity has increased sharply and since we aren't able to run classes due to the pandemic, we are using the Delightful Table location to do what we can to meet this need.

Our food pantry features donated, shelf stable food set up "bodega style" so that our clients can "shop" as if they were in a store. Delightful Table is also putting together recipes using the pantry ingredients to take some of the guesswork out of how to prepare meals with the ingredients available.

If you'd like to get involved we are looking for volunteers and contributions!! Your contribution, whether through your time, energy or money, will help keep our pantry supply stocked so we can provide food to as many people as we can. By now, most kids are pretty familiar with online instruction and using Zoom. As the school year comes to a close why not put those new Zoom skills to use and sign them up for an online cooking class?!

Our online kids classes are designed so that there is no need for adult supervision. For two hours we will teach your budding young chef how to prepare a couple simple items that are very tactile, engaging, hands on and delicious!

We have two classes right now
🍫 Snack Attack! We will make two sweet treats: granola bars & peanut butter chocolate balls for everyone!
🍙 Japanese Rice Balls! From seasoning rice to making the filling, we will do it all and there will be plenty to share!

We are super excited for these and will happily add more if there is demand! Let us know if you have any requests or suggestions!
