It was all hands on deck to have our 314 students photographed today! The kids brought their best smiles and neatly combed hair. We always enjoy working with Zsuzsi Photography, who are quick, professional, and do such a nice job. Can't wait to see the white envelopes come in with our fresh new photos!

We are one day away from our annual Wish List fundraiser! Get ready for an evening of fun while dressed up to represent your child(ren)’s class.

In case you were wondering how this year’s funds will be used, we asked some of our staff & faculty what was on their wish lists!

If you’re not able to make the event, online donations are much appreciated. Please visit the “Wish List | Donate” link in bio to contribute. Thank you, SBS community!

Pack 16 Cub Scouts had another successful campout on the Gus Deppe Memorial Field at SBS this past weekend. Scouts from Troop 10, consisting of many former Pack 16 members, organized activities and ran the campfire program. Families enjoyed hot dogs, homemade chili, toasted marshmallows, and hot chocolate. The highlight of the evening included a rocket launch! Thank you to Troop 10, Den Leaders, and all the families that made the Pack 16 campout a fun time for all.

Interested in joining? See “Scouting | Pack 16” link in bio.

On Thursday, 9/17, our school was honored to have Ross Szabo speak to our 7th and 8th Grade classes about Mental Health and Wellness. Ross is one of the leading mental health education experts in the country. He is a founding faculty member and Wellness Director at Geffen Academy at UCLA. Students had an opportunity to deepen their understanding of mental health and learn about resources they can use to care for their well‑being. Thank you, Mr. Szabo, for sharing your expertise with our students.

SBS Fall Athletics is underway, which means Bear’s Lair is now open for business! Located in the Fleming Family Center, Bear’s Lair serves the community during athletic events on campus. Parent volunteers are vital to our program by selling food & drinks to customers during games.

Our first game is on Thursday, September 17 from 4:00 - 5:00 PM in the Fleming Family Center. Bear’s Lair volunteer opportunities will also be available on weekends throughout the day. For specific dates and times, check the “Bear’s Lair - Volunteer Opportunities” link under the Athletics tab on SchoolSpeak. Be sure to review and acknowledge the Bear's Lair Policies & Procedures prior to sign-up. Go Bears!

It wouldn’t be the last few days of school before the summer break if we didn’t have a school-wide ⭐️ Field Day ⭐️ to build teamwork and school spirit, plus finish the year off with just a day of fun. Our students have worked really hard and deserve to run, play, and enjoy some childhood memories to carry into the summer. ☀️😎🍉

Thank you to our volunteers and to the 8th Grade class for coming back on campus to help make the day run so smoothly.
