Designed for adults 18+ who want to explore healthcare through structured, hospital-based experiential learning, the Health Scholars Program from COPE Health Scholars helps turn classroom knowledge into real-world perspective.

In this complete program overview, discover:

• how Scholars prepare before beginning hospital shifts
• 280 verifiable hours of experiential learning
• hands-on patient care within trained and site-approved scope
• opportunities to experience multiple hospital departments
• mentorship and professional development
• Leadership opportunities
• the communication, teamwork and professionalism that develop through real healthcare environments
• how the experience can help Scholars better understand their interests and future direction in healthcare

No prior healthcare experience is required.

Meet Mackenzie, a COPE Health Scholar at Kaiser Permanente Anaheim and aspiring radiation therapist and medical dosimetrist. Inspired by her own healthcare journey, Mackenzie is pursuing a career dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered cancer care. 💙
