We are so proud of our Program Director, Carol Peralta, who has been named the 2026 recipient of the Children & Nature Network Richard Louv Prize for Innovation in Nature Connection!

From connecting families affected by migration-related trauma to the outdoors through her Rooted Resilience program, to cultivating the Pico-Union community garden, Carol's work is exactly what this award was created to honor.

Celebrate with us tomorrow, 5/28, at the virtual award ceremony! Link in bio to register and learn more about the award

Last week, before we watered the garden, we gathered for a movie night!

Our Learning Garden runs on fresh water but we know that water doesn't exist in isolation. We're connected to the salt water, the ocean, and the entire water cycle. We observe that connection most on our community walks, when we stop at a storm drain and talk about where it all leads. Every drop is part of something bigger.

Thank you to All For Kids and Ms. Veronica for providing pizza for our event!

"Thank you for coming to our school and teaching us about water and all the fun things we did like the aqueduct, water cycle, wasting water, water relay races and the gallons used to make things"

Words like these remind us why we do what we do. Thank you Los Angeles Department of Water & Power for making A Drop in the Bucket possible and for inspiring our next generation of children!

Wellness Wednesday reminder: go touch some grass 🌿. Research shows that time in nature boosts mental health and helps you feel more connected to yourself and the people around you. Even 10 minutes counts. Where will you find your nature moment today?

Every drop counts! 💧 Wildwoods programming combines education and hands-on real water science exploring the water cycle, where our water comes from, and what we can actually do to conserve it. That's the magic of A Drop in the Bucket. Thank you Los Angeles Department of Water & Power for making it possible!
