When your RESPITE or PERSONAL ATTENDANT CARE providers work on their shift, they are not required to "clean" the house, kitchen, do laundry OUTSIDE of their shift hours or at all, since they are not "MAIDS"/housekeepers for the family.
This is an ABUSE that is happening by Regional Center clients and parents, especially of ADULT REGIONAL CENTER clients and their parents. What has been your experience with this?

The weight of that worry, about what will happen when I’m no longer here is a heavy load to bear. ⠀ It’s one that most parents don’t have to think about, one that not many people fully understand. ⠀ It’s caused so many sleepless nights over the years. Who will look after them when I’m gone? How will they process and understand that I’m suddenly no longer there for them? 😢 ⠀ And the stress from worries like this. From trying to make life better, from trying to do everything we can for our kids, to meet the many mental and physical challenges, all compound at times, and cause our minds to wander more than ever. ⠀ It’s why we need to find ways to manage those feelings and stresses. To look after ourselves and stay healthy, just like we look after our children. It’s the most important thing we can do alongside raising our kids.
