Our 17th Annual Symposium on Gifted and Talented Education: Creating Thinking Classrooms for Advanced Learners, and what a day it was! The energy, the learning, the collaboration… all in person again for the first time since the pandemic 🥹🙌

From powerful sessions on critical & creative thinking to full rooms of educators ready to grow and support our advanced learners, this one meant something special. Grateful for every presenter, educator, and team member who made this such a success. THIS is what it’s all about 💫

🎉 What an inspiring day at the LAUSD Gifted and Talented Education Student Conference!

This past Saturday, gifted students from across the District gathered at Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration. 💡

From thought-provoking breakout sessions led by our amazing student facilitators to an unforgettable keynote from Brandon Fleming, the energy and engagement were truly next level. Students explored topics like managing stress and perfectionism, shared their voices, and built community with peers who share their passion for learning. 🌟

A huge thank-you to our presenters, volunteers, educators, and the Gifted/Talented Programs, Advanced Learning Options team for making this event a success, and to every student who showed up eager to grow, reflect, and lead. 💬🙌

Proud of the work we do every day to ensure equitable access and meaningful opportunities for our gifted learners 🌟
Our director, Erin Yoshida-Ehrmann, gave a phenomenal interview back in September, highlighting the District’s efforts to expand access to GATE, address misconceptions about giftedness, and strengthen differentiated supports across our schools.

💪 Behind every successful summit is a team willing to roll up their sleeves (and maybe break a sweat)!
Our GATE crew... administrators, coordinators, and designated GATE psychologists alike, worked their hearts out stuffing over 1,000 tote bags for the 2nd Annual BSAP Family Summit on Gifted and Talented Education. From early prep to last-minute details, we’re a small but mighty team that gets the job done.
So proud of this incredible group for going above and beyond to make this event such a success! 💙✨
