Life at UWGB

Hello from sunny and (very) hot California. My name is Ben Kvalo and I’ll be your host this week. I’m a 2010 graduate of UWGB, so just under ten years ago.

Where has the time gone?!

I’ll be going through my journey and career over the next week, but to give you a bit of a primer, here are some basic information about me:

From: Portage, WI
Degree: Business Administration, Emphasis in Management
Minor: Communications
Work: Campaign Operations Manager, Film @ Netflix

I live in Downtown Los Angeles, a couple blocks from the Staples Center, and, as mentioned above, I run films campaigns and operations for Netflix. I’ve worked on over 40 campaigns, including Bird Box, Extraction, Spenser Confidential, The Old Guard, Project Power, Work It, The Perfect Date, and many others. I’ll spend a day on my work at Netflix later this week.

Excited to connect with you all and answer questions on my journey from Portage to GB to SF to all over the world to LA.

In case you care and/or were not aware, one of my favorite foods is TACOS 🌮🌮🌮 I had sriracha tacos on Monday, tacos on Tuesday, and tacos today (because I needed to feed myself after my math exam because I woke up 17 minutes before it started so I had to just throw on clothes and go 😂)

I have no idea how anyone studies without an abundance of colored pens and highlighters 🤷‍♀️

On Mondays and Wednesdays I have class from 8-11ish in the morning 🤮 so that means I’m technically done with school at 11 BUT of course I have allll the work to do between all the activities/meetings/work lol so I try to squeeze in studying whenever I can; however, I am much more productive when I can have at least an hour’s block of time to focus. I’m sure some of you can relate!
