Festival de las Americas 2022 was amazing!

For the last several weeks all classes have been engaged in a project based inquiry, where they studied a different country across the Americas and learned about their culture, geography, food, music, dance, and more!

On Friday they got to show off what they learned to the entire school community. Muy bien amigos y amigas. What a show!

We love it when our young people take agency!

Our 5th graders at CLIC are determined to go out in style and have been raising funds for one last epic Graduation party to celebrate their culmination from elementary school.

I would say these young folk are ready to take middle school by storm!

CLIC Value of the Month = Creativity

This month's CLIC value is Creativity!

We can't wait to see all of the creativity that lies ahead during our Festival de las Americas inquiry projects. Students are hard at work making artistic masterpieces related to their countries of study and learning the choreography for their dances.

Speaking of creativity, check out these puppet theaters created by our fifth graders to show off what they've been learning in science.

Hey CLIC Community! Come on out for the West Adams Day of Safety on May 15th at Westside Neighborhood Park.

There will be bikes available to borrow for the day, so bring the kids out and let them get tuckered out! They will learn some bike safety and enjoy some free riding time around the park in addition to other fun activities.

Come on out!

That time that Kwame Alexander came to hang out with us at CLIC 😍

Thank you for the shout out Kwame Alexander and a huge THANK YOU to our own CLIC Teachers this week as we celebrate their contributions during Teacher Appreciation Week.

It’s spring break week and our City slickers are out and about exploring!

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful state and California is certainly showing off this month with the spring bloom.

What are you up to this week?

We love Spring in our Kindergarten classrooms!

We took a peek to see what they were exploring this month and there were butterflies everywhere! 🦋

Our educational philosophy at CLIC is Constructivist, which means we build and scaffold learning over time and across subjects, so one project can last weeks and be examined from many different angles. Our classrooms are also Reggio inspired, so you will see the students work reflected back in the space.

Such beautiful work friends. Thanks for letting us stop in Ms Cruz 🥰
