In addition we provide many social events throughout the year, such as our Coffee Fridays and Movie Nights, to promote the strong sense of community we enjoy here at CalCreative. Through our volunteer efforts we provide thousands of hours of support to students, teachers and staff inside and outside the classroom. Becoming involved in the PTSA is a great way to share opinions and information with other parents and your child's teachers, to learn about what's going on in school, to promote programs enhancing the education at CalCreative and to be part of a strong voice speaking for our children's welfare. One thing that makes our school so special is our parent participation. Studies have shown that children do better in school when parents volunteer – and our children are the beneficiaries of our dedicated CalCreative parents. Together with our Administration and Outreach Team, we are able to give our students opportunities many other schools do not have. Our Art, Dance, Music and Theater programs bring arts education into the classroom on a regular basis. We provide resources for our parents and staff to make sure everyone is well informed. We encourage you to get involved at our school – it truly does make a difference and will enrich the CalCreative experience for both you and your child. No matter what your availability – full-time working parent or stay-at-home parent – there are volunteer opportunities that can fit your schedule. To us, there are no "outsiders." We are parents who have come together to work toward common goals and we would love to have you join us! Even if you cannot volunteer your time, your financial support through membership and other avenues is greatly appreciated to support the efforts of the CalCreative PTSA. Attending PTSA meetings is a great way to keep informed. PTSA meetings are held 3-6 Thursdays a year either in person or via Zoom, and generally last about an hour and a half.
