Character Mapping Character Mapping is psychological toolbox for actors, writers, and directors to build compelling characters and using the craft for artistic wellbeing.

Character Mapping is an innovative and comprehensive approach to character development that helps actors, writers, and directors quickly create a cohesive backstory and multi-layered motivations. Using a series of ten, interwoven "maps" illustrating the multiple spheres in which characters live, the Foundations of Character Mapping program gives storytellers reliable tools to create unique, believable characters. The Intensive Track for Artistic Health specifically deals with the importance of working with the impact of the craft on the self of the storyteller. Both programs include didactic and experiential components to facilitate integrative learning. Developed by seasoned psychotherapist and trainer, Mariel Pastor of Portland, Oregon, Character Mapping is available in workshops, intensive trainings, and private individual and group consultations.

Are you an actor, writer or director? Come join us for a free masterclass in Character Mapping (www.character-mapping.com) called "The System of Selves," taught by its creator, Mariel Pastor. It's a unique psychological toolbox to develop more authentic characters for actors, writers and directors.

It's taking place on Saturday, Aug 17th from 10-6 (with lunch served) and for a couple hours on the 18th for roundtables depending on whether you're an actor, writer or director. The only catch is it'll be filmed as part of an online course that Mariel has developed. But anyone who participates will get access to the online course for free and also over $1000k of free material and bonuses!
