In July 2024, I said, “If not now, then when?”
And with that, I officially launched Graves Learning Academy full-time.

Over the past year, I supported one student independently, subcontracted with four schools for special education compliance and case management, completed 40 academic assessments across three schools, helped one school successfully navigate a district validation review with LAUSD, and watched my academic coaching student become a stronger reader — all while homeschooling my own child.

It was hard. It was deeply satisfying. I’m tired.
But I kept going.
Managed to keep all my hair — and I didn’t have to move in with any of y’all. 🙌🏾

Patience is the name of the game! It is easy to get frustrated when our children have difficulty understanding a concept but the key to supporting them is FIRST exercising patience and THEN finding a way for them to connect with what they are learning. My Noi benefits from hands on manipulatives in math to support her development. Counting blocks help her to visualize making 10s as she conquers adding double digits. It is important to remember that EVERY student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way. ~ George Evans.
