Our Story
HOPE is a student-initiated, student-run outreach project from UCLA. We exist to address the lack of access to and the under-representation of Vietnamese youth in higher education. Composed of UCLA student staff and volunteers, we provide weekly services to students in under-resourced and underserved high schools in the greater Los Angeles area, specifically at Westminster High School (Tuesdays 3-5:30pm), San Gabriel High School (Wednesdays 2-4:30pm), and Gardena High School (Thursdays 3:15-5:30pm). We provide free mentoring, peer advising, tutoring, test preparation, skill-building workshops, and field trips for students. We are also here to support and answer any questions parents may have regarding higher education. For anyone interested in getting to know themselves and their community better, improve on their study habits, and learn about college and alternative graduation plans, come join HOPE! If you are a UCLA student interested in volunteering with us, you can visit the HOPE Office located in the Student Activities Center Suite 106D.
