Common Mistakes Parents Make With Newborns
Newborn care can feel overwhelming, and every parent learns with time. Common mistakes include overdressing baby, missing sleep cues, skipping burping, bathing too often, using harsh skincare products, unsafe crib items, and comparing your baby with others. Newborns need gentle care, safe sleep, regular feeds, clean umbilical cord care, and calm routines. Parents also need rest, support, and patience. There is no perfect parent, only loving parents learning every day. When unsure, trust your instincts and ask your pediatrician.

Hope all the mamas had a beautiful Mother’s Day 💜🌷💐🌹🥰

A mother’s love for her children is her fuel.⁣

It keeps her going.⁣

Even when she’s burnt out, tired, completely overwhelmed, or on the ground crying. She keeps going.⁣

Even when her anxiety is so bad that she's able to identify 20 ways her children could get hurt at the park, she lets them enjoy it. She keeps going.⁣

Even when her depression is so awful, it feels like it's pressing down on her forcing her to stay in bed, the wail of her newborn needing her pulls her right up. She keeps going.⁣

Even when life throws her curveballs, relationships are failing, finances aren’t steady, or she’s dealing with grief. She keeps going.⁣

On the good days. She keeps going.⁣
On the bad days. She keeps going.⁣
On the tired days. She keeps going.⁣
On the sad days. She keeps going.⁣

And her love isn’t perfect.⁣
It makes her angry and yell out of fear.⁣
It makes her anxious and look to control.⁣

But it’s the most powerful part of her—⁣
that love for her children.⁣

It’s strong and unconditional.⁣

And it keeps her going.⁣
No matter what.⁣

Correct tummy time is very important for a number of reasons. Strengthens core muscles which actually aids in rolling over, sitting up and believe it or not sleep conditioning 😴💤🥰

Tummy Time Tips for Babies
Tummy time is an important daily activity that helps your baby build neck, shoulder, back, and core strength. It supports motor development and prepares babies for rolling, sitting, and crawling. Start with just a minute or two, a few times each day, when your baby is awake and supervised. Use a soft mat, get down at your baby’s level, and make it fun with smiles, toys, or a mirror. Try tummy time after naps and not right after feeding. If your baby gets fussy, take a break and try again later. Small, consistent sessions can make a big difference over time.

Measles cases continue to climb this year, as the outbreak has impacted 32 states with 72% of cases among children and teens. Case counts this year have been the highest in South Carolina, Utah, Texas and Florida, according to CDC data.

Attention is turning to Utah where an outbreak that began in June 2025 has produced over 600 cases. When the vaccination rate is more than 95%, most people are protected through community immunity, according to the CDC. However, just under 89% of Utah kindergartners in the 2024-’25 school year were vaccinated.

The AAP recommends ensuring patients are covered with a two-dose measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination series. Read the full story in AAP News:

The human body is truly amazing ✨

When you become pregnant, your body will begin to undergo a series of incredible changes– including producing milk for your little one. But when can you expect this to come in?

Milk production generally begins around halfway through your pregnancy, anywhere between 16-22 weeks. At this stage, your body will be producing colostrum (milk that’s rich in calories and antibodies) which will serve as baby’s first food after birth. You may even begin to notice faint yellow stains in your bra during the second or third trimester, a sign that their ni***es are leaking colostrum. As your little one gets the hang of feeding and their needs evolve, your body will begin to cycle through the three stages of breast milk: colostrum, transitional milk and, finally, mature breast milk. The more you know!

It’s that time of the year - a humidifier in the room is another way to help ease congestion.

How to help a toddler with a cough or cold

One of the best remedies for coughing or cold is saline nasal drops. You can use these with a nasal syringe, and saline drops can help soften mucus to remove it. If you cannot get the nasal drops into your toddler’s nose, a warm bath can also clear the nasal passage and soften mucus.
You can also offer your child fluids and honey. Staying hydrated is very important when your child is sick, and the best way to ensure that housing enough water is to make sure that they drink one serving of water for each year of their life.

Constipation can cause pain and discomfort 😕

A few ways to help a constipated baby

1. Let them get some exercise. First, exercise can stimulate your baby’s bowels. If your baby is not walking or crawling yet, a caregiver will have to help them exercise to relieve the constipation. The caregiver can move the baby’s legs while they’re on their back to mimic a bike-riding motion and help alleviate some of the constipation pain.

2. Give them a warm bath. Another way to help relieve your baby’s constipation is by giving them a warm bath. A warm bath can relax the abdominal muscles, help them stop straining, and relieve some of the discomfort that comes with being constipated.

Good guide to go by, but the signs i.e. drooling, fingers in the mouth can start as early as 3 1/2 months. So they can “teeth” for like two months before you even see the first tooth poking through.

When do baby teeth come in?
Generally speaking, you can expect four teeth every six months after your baby is born. Teeth also come in a certain way.
In the first 6 to 12 months, your baby’s two front bottom and top teeth will pop through their gums. At 10 to 16 months, the lateral incisors will come through. At 16 to 23 months, the canines or pointy teeth will come in. It is also possible that some of the first molars will also show up. Finally, at 23 to 33 months, your baby’s second molars will come in.
