104 years ago today, Irish film director William Desmond Taylor was found murdered in his Hollywood home — one of early cinema’s great unsolved mysteries.
That story continues to inspire creativity and connection. Cleverality founded Taylorfest, an annual film and arts festival in Taylor’s hometown of Carlow, to celebrate his legacy and the spirit of storytelling that endures.
Here’s a look back at one of the festival’s programs, featuring performances and contributions from Duke Special, Amanda Coogan, and a live, musically accompanied screening of Morals (1922) — a fitting tribute to a filmmaker whose story still echoes through time.

Our award-winning short 'Blood Coloured Moon' gets yet another screening at the Follow That Car! event in Sligo on February 4th.
Directed and co-produced by Marc-Ivan O'Gorman, the Filmbase/RTE award-winning film has previously screened at international festivals in Belfast, New York, Galway, New Delhi, Cork, Bangalore, Mumbai, Derry, Indore, Dublin and Los Angeles.

The magical ingredient in TV and movies (and increasingly in immersive experiences) is sound. Though Cleverality has worked exclusively in audio storytelling, via their various radio shows, every visual or theatrical production they have engaged in the audio component has been a priority. Cleverality director Marc-Ivan O’Gorman recently brushed up on his audio skills completing this Berklee College of Music course with award-winning sound designer Mark Cross
