DK students have been enjoying learning how to play Lotería! 💙

Students learned how to play the traditional Mexican game while practicing Spanish vocabulary and having plenty of fun along the way. It was a fun way to continue celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month together!

Today was one for the Curtis history books! 🏈

Our first ever Girls Flag Football team took the field for its inaugural game, marking an exciting new chapter in Curtis Athletics. We’re so proud of these Cougars for being the first to represent Curtis on the field and paving the way for the teams that will follow.

Here’s to the start of something special! 💙

A birthday is even more fun when you get to celebrate it together! 🎉

In celebration of Dr. Ratnesar’s birthday, students, faculty, and staff who share the 9/21 birthday joined her for a special celebration. With ice cream sundaes, plenty of smiles, and time together, it was a sweet way to celebrate Dr. Ratnesar and all of our 9/21 birthdays!

Happy birthday, Dr. Ratnesar and the 9/21 Club! 💙🎂

Today, our community came together to recognize several meaningful cultural celebrations and traditions. 💙

For Hispanic Heritage Month, students enjoyed pupusas and horchata, explored colorful bracelets, and took part in activities that celebrated the richness of Hispanic cultures!

In recognition of Rosh Hashanah, students learned about the traditions and significance of the holiday, including the meaning behind some of the foods and practices that are part of the celebration.

For Chuseok, students played Jegichagi, a traditional Korean game where players use their feet to keep a small object in the air, and learned how to write their names in Korean.

Students also learned about the Mid-Autumn Festival and Moon Festival, exploring the history behind the celebrations while receiving lanterns and taking part in a marble chopstick game!

We are so grateful to the families and volunteers who took the time to share their cultures, traditions, and stories with our community. These moments help our students learn from one another and celebrate the many cultures represented at Curtis!

Last week, 6th Graders spent 3 days in a retreat that brought together friendship, adventure, and experiences they will carry with them for years to come.

Challenges on the ropes course, lively art sessions, fun archery, an evening by the fire with s’mores, and more all played a role in strengthening bonds and creating lasting memories!

We applaud our 6th Graders for embracing every moment with energy and openness. Here’s to a year filled with growth, discovery, and unforgettable milestones!

We caught up with a few of our Cougars to hear what they’re most excited about as we begin a new year at Curtis!

We’re so happy to have our community back on campus and can’t wait for all that’s ahead!
