Today’s is double the celebration because we are featuring not one, but two young people from our Lennox site at SBWIB YouthBuild, Daniel Estrada (left) and Renne Lopez (right)! After graduating in June, Daniel plans to go to trade school or join an apprenticeship to prepare for an eventual career in construction and Renne, who finished his credits in March, has started working. They both enjoyed working on CAPs (community action projects) that involved painting and fixing up spaces in their community. We wish both Daniel and Renne all the best as they move on to their next steps after they walk across the graduation stage in two weeks! 🎉🎓

We had a blast at Dreamcatcher Community Resource Center's Open House & Resource Fair in Norwalk today. The event was part of their Trimester 3 Community Action Project (CAP), and it provided an opportunity to meet their team, explore resources, celebrate student success, and learn more about the opportunities for students and families in the Norwalk area.

It’s amazing to see how far this program has come this year, and we can’t wait to see how co-directors Robert Montes and Julia Mijango continue to build out their program and make an even bigger impact on their community in the years to come! Thanks to all the community organizations who came out to table at the event. It was great getting to learn more about the work they’re doing and explore ways to collaborate in the future. There’s still an hour to go if you still want to stop by the event: 10931 Rosecrans Ave. in Norwalk.
