Dear friends,

What began as a simple page for the annual LA Religious Education Congress film showcase has evolved into a larger platform, what we are now calling PMAX - a new Pastoral Media Arts program at the LMU Center for Religion and Spirituality.

Please continue to follow this page, which will serve as a resource for media topics pertaining to pastoral work, calendar of community events including the congress film showcase, as well as new opportunities for learning, beginning with the Media Arts for Ministry certificate program in January 2022.

As the pandemic recedes, we hope to bring new opportunities for learning and community building in the media arts. Don't be a stranger!

It is hard to imagine the heartbreak and pain that the Tree of Life Congregation in Pittsburgh is now experiencing. Making reference to the blessings of God first promised to the children of Abraham, Pope St. John Paul II called the Jewish community "elder brothers in the faith." This community that the Catholic Church recognizes as the first hear God's voice is now in mourning after senseless violence was unleashed in one their houses of worship.

All people of faith, all people of good will must come together to beseech God that violence and hatred will end, and that true solidarity and a fraternal spirit may grow--in our hearts, in our homes, in our communities, and in our world.
