Last month, we had the honor of celebrating Gnomon’s Winter and Spring 2026 graduates alongside friends, families, faculty, and the Gnomon community.

We’re incredibly proud of all they accomplished during their time at Gnomon and the dedication, creativity, and hard work that brought them to this milestone.

A special thank you to our keynote speaker Brandon Fayette, a Gnomon graduate and co-founder of Fuzzy Door Tech, for returning to Gnomon to share his perspective and excitement for what lies ahead.

Congratulations again to our new graduates! We loved celebrating this moment with you and everyone who supported you along the way.

🏆 Best of Term | Animation - Dialogue (Spring 2026)

Gnomon BFA students Tomas Rivas and Adrian Gongora collaborated on this two-character dialogue scene in our Demo Reel 2 course. Set at a diner during the night, the piece follows a simple conversation between two people, with Tomas handling all animation and scene layout while Adrian led lighting, compositing, look development, scene assembly, rendering, color grading, and audio.

🏆 Best of Term | Character - Realism (Spring 2026)

Gnomon BFA student Tyler Stigers created this high-fashion character in our Character Modeling and Sculpting course. The piece blends medieval-inspired metalwork with modern runway styling, using fashion magazine-style posing and lighting to capture the feeling of a high-fashion photoshoot.

Tyler went through multiple rounds of iteration on two fronts: finding the right skin shader to achieve believable realism, and working through lighting and composition until the final image clicked.

How do you create textures that hold up on the big screen?

Join us on Tuesday, August 25th (7-9 PM PT) for an in-person event with Gnomon alum Kasita Wonowidjojo (Kasita), Senior Texture Painter at Digital Domain.

Learn her workflow for creating believable textures for film, how she analyzes references and translates them into Substance 3D Painter, and the difference between hand-painted and scan-based approaches used in production.

Kasita has worked on:
Disclosure Day, Thunderbolts, A Minecraft Movie, Captain America: Brave New World, Secret Invasion, The Electric State
