I love when clients no longer need me! Believe it or not, I WANT my students not to need me anymore - that means they’re thriving and I’ve done my job well.
For those who don’t know the ISEE test has multiple levels - lower (for elementary school) MIDDLE (grades 6-8) and UPPER (grades 9-12). This was a current 8th grader, applying to schools/going into 9th grade,
taking the UPPER LEVEL test. For context, the UPPER ISEE tests all four grade levels (9th-12th) on the same material, much of which is material you don’t even learn until 11th or 12th grade. Scoring a 9 is the highest score you can get, and it’s so difficult for an 8th grader to score this well on the upper level test. When I started with this student only a few months ago, he had scored a 4, 5, 6 and 7 with his lowest score being in reading. We took his lowest score (a 4 in reading comp) up to a 9! What?!?! That’s a WILD improvement. That’s like going from a low score to a perfect score on the SAT in only a few months. We also took his other lowest score (a 5 in verbal) up to an 8! Generally speaking, that big of an improvement (and those high of scores) is almost unheard of (but clearly not impossible!). With only a few months of tutoring (and a lot of hard work/willingness), he knocked it out of the park!
Well done to this student! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
