This Spring, step into leadership and explore the world of aviation through the Youth Leadership Airport Academy (YLAA) at Van Nuys Airport.

Students will participate in interactive workshops, guided airport tours, real-world simulations, and hands-on leadership action planning.

Celebrating 25 Years of ABC and “The Power of Us” at the State of Latinas/os Conference!

So many meaningful conversations and exceptional leaders are driving change in Los Angeles.

We are proud to highlight the role of Amanecer Co-Founder Dr. Iris Zuñiga as a facilitator during this inspiring convening. Her panel, featuring key public sector leaders, Dr. Armida Ornelas, Dr. Ruth Pérez, Karla Pleitez Howell, and Dr. Iliana Pérez, elevated critical conversations on advancing educational equity from cradle to college.

Through collaboration, empathy, and skilled facilitation, Dr. Zuñiga helped guide a robust dialogue on how systems leaders can work together to create more equitable pathways for students and families, underscoring that “the future of Latino students is the future of LA County, the state, and the country.”

At Amanecer Consulting, we believe in building what doesn’t yet exist. That’s why we’re proud to support EXPAND LA in launching the Expanded Learning Workforce Development Initiative—a bold, cross-sector effort uniting local colleges, agency partners, and community-based organizations to build a sustainable leadership pipeline for expanded learning professionals.

Through the Forward Facing Convening Series—held this spring at Los Angeles Mission College and East LA College—we facilitated critical conversations around:
✅ Moving OST professionals from entry-level roles into leadership
✅ Elevating best practices from network partners like Partnership for Children & Youth, Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson, and Woodcraft Rangers
✅ Aligning policy, practice, and mentorship to strengthen the ecosystem
