Program Overview:
The UCLA McNair Research Scholars Program is a two-year research intensive program that:
(1) supports undergraduate students in their completion of a research thesis under the guidance of a faculty mentor; and
(2) prepares students to apply to, and excel in, the best graduate programs in the country while pursuing a Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences.

2015 UCLA McNair Research Symposium

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Brenda Stevenson

Brenda Stevenson is Professor of History at UCLA, and past Chair of the Departments of History and African American Studies. Her work ranges from women, slavery, and family in early and antebellum America and the Atlantic world, to race, gender, in*******al dynamics and the law in late 20th century America. Her books include the award winning Life in Black and White: Family and Community in the Slave South and her latest, The Contested Murder of Latasha Harlins: Justice, Gender and the Origins of the L.A. Riots.
