What an incredible day serving the families of Assembly District 62. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to partner with Assemblymember Jose Luis Solache , whose commitment to our community continues to make a real impact. A huge thank you to our amazing friends at South Gate Kiwanis Club , our dedicated Key Club students, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles team for showing up with heart, energy, and service. Together, we didn’t just hand out turkeys, we shared hope, connection, and support with families who deserve it most. Proud of our community. Proud of our kids. Proud to serve. 🦃❤️

I remember when conversations about opening a new building were nothing more than ideas or visions we would casually talk about and even joke that “one day” it might happen. To now stand here and see that vision brought to life this past year is truly remarkable.

This building represents far more than bricks and walls, it reflects years of planning and dedication. From navigating countless obstacles, securing approvals, aligning resources, and managing delays, to ensuring that every detail served the needs of our scholar.

Thank you to and the Alliance Foundation for your leadership, partnership, and for being here today to celebrate the ribbon cutting of The Frank Baxter Community Center. Your support played a vital role in turning this dream into a reality.

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who joined us this weekend for our Tree Lighting event. Bringing our community together for this special tradition is something I look forward to every holiday season.

Secondly, a heartfelt thank you to all of our staff, volunteers, and everyone who helped organize and prepare for this event. Your hard work, dedication, and teamwork are the reason celebrations like this are possible.

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to my Alliance family for showing up and celebrating with us. Moments like these remind me how strong we are when our schools support one another. It’s truly amazing to witness our students, families, staff, and neighboring Alliance schools come together to uplift our community. Every event we share reinforces the values of unity, collaboration, and pride that make Alliance so special.

Today, I had the honor of showing up and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our community. As a principal, I see every day how immigration enforcement impacts the lives of our students and families. Being present as the Oversight Democrats launched the Immigration Enforcement Dashboard was a powerful reminder that our voices matter, and that our communities deserve transparency, protection, and truth.

At , our mission is rooted in being anti-racist and pro-Black, and that means showing up wherever systems threaten the dignity, safety, and humanity of the young people we serve. This work is about protecting our kids, uplifting our families, and fighting for the justice they deserve.

A heartfelt thank you to , , , , , , and every House Democrat who took part in this hearing. Your leadership and commitment to our communities make this work possible.

Your voices remind us how important it is to take pride in our culture, honor our traditions, and continue to build bridges that unite our diverse community.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Ruelas for her leadership, passion, and dedication to La Raza Club. Since she began leading the club, we’ve seen a remarkable growth in cultural pride, student participation, and awareness throughout our campus. Her commitment has created a space where students feel seen, valued, and inspired to celebrate who they are.

💐✨ Alongside our incredible Community Schools Coordinator, Mr. Perez, and our APO, Ms. Itzel, I had the privilege of delivering flowers to Board Member Tanya Ortiz Franklin and her team, as well as the dedicated team at Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson , in honor of . Incredibly grateful and humbled to witness special moment as Assemblymember honored my incredible wife, Susana Ponce, for her 15 years of dedicated service as a passionate and dedicated Spanish teacher at . ❤️ Her unwavering commitment to her students and love for education inspire me every day.

During Women’s History Month, it’s especially meaningful to celebrate the impact of dedicated educators like Susana, who have spent years shaping young minds and fostering a love for language and culture with humility and grace.
