The USC Aerial Robotics Team is a completely student run organization in its 5th active year. The focus of our team is to develop and expand the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) industry while competing in the International Aerial Robotics Competition (IARC). We seek to understand all aspects of autonomous aerial robotics by developing customized mechanical and electrical components and innovative software architectures. Succeeding in the International Aerial Robotics Competition is our main objective, but we look to do more than just compete. We are structured in such a way that encourages all of our members to develop top engineering skills that stretch further than the bounds of the classroom. Engineers from our organization are highly capable individuals with a background in all aspects of robotics research and development including but not limited to software engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. The unique subset of engineers that are produced from our organization have been hired by world-renowned companies such as Boeing, SpaceX, JPL, Apple, and Microsoft, to name a few.We represent some of the best engineers that USC has to offer and we strive to build upon the glowing reputation that our University has by displaying our achievements on a global stage. Typically, our team consists of mechanical engineering, computer science, and electrical engineering students but has included students from a variety of majors throughout USC. All of our members have dedicated time and effort to the organization, and we seek members who will continue to help our organization grow and improve. Previous experience is not necessary to be a part of the team, however, the desire to gain experience is. The USC Aerial Robotics Team participates in a number of community-centered events every semester. Our members are exemplary individuals both within the doors of the lab and outside. Besides working on the robot, they take time to give back to the community and share their knowledge with their peers and neighbors.
