The YOLA Team is excited to share the Beckmen YOLA Center’s Workforce Development Program applications are now open! The Los Angeles Philharmonic and YOLA, in partnership with the IATSE Local 33 Union, offers young professionals an opportunity to join the IATSE Local 33 Union and build their career in stagecraft at the Beckmen YOLA Center (BYC) in Inglewood. Areas of focus will be around orchestral production and include audio (amplification & recording), video (recording, live streaming and editing), staging, carpentry, rigging and projection.

This program offers a 2-year paid part-time stagehand position at the Beckmen YOLA Center under the mentorship of the IATSE Local 33 BYC Lead Stage Technician. Participants will get access to job shadowing and training from the LA Phil Production Team and IATSE stagehands at other LA Phil venues (Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, The Ford).

We are currently accepting applications and would love to invite members from your Los Angeles Trade Technical College (LATTC) community to apply. What You Will Do

The Costume Production department is responsible for facilitating the manufacturing and maintenance of operational and entertainment costumes across The Walt Disney Company. At Disney, you will partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to ensure costume quality and design is consistently maintained.

Interface daily with the Workroom Teams, Costumers, Buyers, Designers, and varying levels of management within the Costuming organization
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to draping, drafting, patterning, CAD/CAM process, costume construction, fittings, size charts and alterations
Attend possible meetings
Observe and assist with fittings
Required Qualifications & Skills

Proven knowledge of fabrics with an understanding of their relation to design and construction techniques
Experience in the Theater, Film or Apparel Industry
Willingness to learn and work with many different methods of construction that are unique to Creative Costuming
Proven planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
Shown experience in CAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, technical design, flat, and sketches
Computer proficiency is strongly encouraged as well as willingness to learn various programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and vendors
Education

Senior, recent graduate or Graduate earning a college/university degree in Costume Design Production, Costuming, Clothing, or related field

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
Available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
Additional Information

The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through January 2025
This internship is located in Anaheim, CA; candidates should be receptive to providing their own transportation and housing for the duration of the internship
