Our recent ‘Whole Family Healing Program’ proved that the most impactful way of supporting the safety and empowerment of girls, is by also working in close collaboration with their families and community.

In fact, when we began working with whole families and the community, rates of violence towards girls and women dropped by 45%.

In response to this, REALgirl (SERniña) is expanding our services to provide more holistic support, not only to girls, but also to their families and communities by opening a ‘Family & Community Support Center’ in El Hato.

Each month we meet with families one-on-one to provide them with their new monthly materials, talk them through program expectations and goals, and check in on their well-being and progress.

Gitanjali is not only inspiring through her scientific accolades but also in her fight for more equity in science and leadership:

Not only do we want to guide and inspire girls to reach their highest potential, we also want them to step-up as the leaders of tomorrow committed to creating a better and more gender-equal world where their sisters, and future daughters can thrive with more ease.

Over the past three years we have delivered Healthy Relationships & Consent workshops and presentations to over 20,000 students across California through our holistic branch, REALyou.

We are so proud to see our Guatemalan program apply this critically needed curriculum in their programs.

Since COVID our Guatemalan branch, SERniña, has moved to online offerings. Over the course of October and November, they will be offering Healthy Relationships & Consent online workshops to hundreds of youth who need it most.

La inscripción es abierta para cualquier niña/o de Guatemala que esté dentro de las edades de 9 y 18 años. Pueden estar acompañadas/os por una o un adulto de su confianza. Los grupos será separados entre niñas y niños.
Nota: Para participar es importante que tenga acceso de calidad a internet.

¿CUÁNDO ES?
El proceso consta de 5 sesiones, una vez por semana, a partir del 5 de octubre. Cada sesión tendrá una duración máxima de 2 horas. Los participantes pueden elegir día y horario favorable para ellos de las opciones disponibles en el formulario.

¿QUÉ APRENDERAN DURANTE LOS TALLERES?

Durante el proceso los participantes van a ...

→ Aprender y entender sobre el amor propio y el auto-cuidado.

→ Aprender sobre la autonomía corporal, cómo ejercerla y conocer la importancia del consentimiento para cualquier interacción corporal.

→ Aprender la diferencia entre relaciones saludables y NO saludables, identificar señales de alarma (violencias y agresiones) y establecer límites personales.

→ Desarrollar herramientas y estrategias para que identifiquen violencias en su relacionamiento con otras personas, y establezcan límites y criterios.

→ Aprender a defender su cuerpo y espacio vital a partir del reconocimiento de situaciones de riesgo para la vida de las niñas y niños.

→ Aprender a reconocer y crear redes de apoyo, contención y cuidado.

→ Recuperar la armonía individual y colectiva para establecer relaciones desde el respeto.

→ Presentar la propuesta de autodefensa feminista como una práctica concreta para el autocuidado. (Niñas)
