If you’re exploring a career in medical imaging, you’ve probably noticed something right away: there isn’t just one path. Instead, there are several specialized roles, each with its own focus, technology, and patient experience.
At Smith Chason College, the Los Angeles and Ontario campuses offer training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS), and Cardiovascular Sonography (Echocardiography/CVS). Each program leads to a different type of role in healthcare, but they share a common thread: using advanced imaging technology to help physicians diagnose and treat patients.
Whether you’re interested in structured imaging with MRI, hands-on scanning with DMS, or focusing on the heart and cardiovascular system with CVS, our latest blog breaks down what each program involves and how each campus supports your training.
We are looking for OB ultrasound volunteers for a non-diagnostic educational ultrasound experience at our San Marcos Campus.
Volunteers may receive a printed sonogram keepsake while helping our students continue building hands-on skills under instructor supervision.

Open to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester volunteers. Each volunteer may bring up to two guests.
Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged!
Please note: Volunteers must have already been seen by a physician or obstetric care provider before participating. These scans are strictly educational and non-diagnostic. No diagnosis, interpretation, or clinical evaluation will be provided.
