Shortcuts save time. Some are universal, some are template specific. Usable on Mac & PC, as well as iPad through a Bluetooth-connected keyboard. Learn 'em, Love 'em.

I'm extending my “Pay-What-You-Can” option for any Skarratt Basics workshops booked now thru the end of June.

This 3-hour workshop, normally $145 (US) per student, looks at the Breakdown Template, the Progress Report Template, and the Facing Page Template, going in-depth at how these documents work independently as well as in tandem. We cover how to change the templates fields and properties to best suit your own workflow. This workshop also includes a look at the Lining Tools in the Scriptation app. Additionally, these sessions will be limited to two (2) students at a time.

Sessions are Monday -Friday either Mornings (9am -12pm Pacific) or Afternoons (1pm - 4pm Pacific). If you are located outside the continental USA, I'm happy to adjust session times to make attendance more convenient in your time zone.

Note1 : This workshop is intended for experienced script supervisors. This is not a 'how to script supervise' course, you must already have some proficiency in the job.

Note 2: There will be no workshops on Monday, May 29th in observation of Memorial Day.

Here's a quick look at how to start a new shooting day.

FACING PAGE TIP: Time Code
Before using the Time Code command, you have to manually synchronize the template with the camera's time code. And really, it's more of a Time Stamp because you have to key it manually. Remember to check it throughout the day as it can drift on some systems and keep in mind that it won't match a if you switch to a different frame rate, like slow motion.

FACING PAGE TIP:
Field & Column labels can be changed to whatever best suits your personal workflow. To change any Field or Column label, click on the dark purple Settings button -> Click on the label you want to change -> Type in the new label.

One of the best things about the Skarratt Templates is how easily they can adjust to your workflow. Note the differences between single camera per entry vs multiple camera per entry. Neither is wrong, it's all about what works for you.

Breakdown Tip: If you want the day's scenes in Call Sheet order, you can sort by Date, then use decimals in the "Day" column to put scenes in any order you like. I like to use .03 gaps to allow room for additional changes during the day. At the end of the shooting day, remember to reset them back to the same day number in order to copy them all to the Progress Report.
