Whoo Hoo! We are so very proud to announce we received the grant from L.A. County Arts Commission for Locavore Lit LA! This is our premiere literary online website and publication, also a student and teacher resource that is accompanied by real time author visits to classrooms in Los Angeles public schools. Students interact with real authors emanating from their own neighborhoods, mirroring cultural experiences, and community places representing their lives. As words and writing become more relevant to the young people, it also becomes more interesting. We are fueling a love for reading and writing which is long overdue! Hats off to the OGP Program, serving arts ed, dance, literary, media arts, multi-disciplinary, music, chorale and opera, as well as traditional and folk art and visual art. the L.A. Arts Commission, the Board of Supervisors, and especially the esteemed panelists!
