"So what does a producer actually do?" That's the question we asked the alumni panelists on our Producers Panel this week. Rebecca Stone, Brian McLaughlin, Mark DiCristofaro, and Lizzie Bassett have worked the gamut of indie and big-budget film, scripted and unscripted TV, and multiple forms of digital media, and they offered invaluable insights to our current students in the BULA Program.

BULA students were privileged to attend the Boston University Alumni event "Changing the Status Quo: Unconscious Bias in Media" last night at Paramount Studios. Alums Geena Davis, Nina Tassler, Krista Vernoff, and Madeline Di Nonno spoke about the work they're doing to bring about true representation in Media and how small changes at all levels of a production can have profound effects on the culture at large. Thank you for the enlightening and inspiring discussion!

Our recent Writers Panel was a fun and hugely insightful event! Our alumni panelists Maria Jacquemetton (Mad Men), Lauren Muir (The 100), Daria Polatin (Castle Rock), Hilary Weisman Graham (Orange is the New Black), and Sarah Murphy-Katz (ABC Current Programming) shared stories from their careers and offered practical advice to burgeoning writers in the audience.
